Topic

Updated pciutils packages that fix one bug and add one enhancement are now
available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.

Description

The pciutils packages provide various utilities for inspecting and manipulating
devices connected to the Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) bus.

This update fixes the following bug:

  • Prior to this update, the pciutils directory daemon did not call closedir().

As a consequence, the directory could not be closed. This update modifies the
underlying source code so that the directory is now closed after processing.
(BZ#684131)

This update adds following enhancements:

  • With this update, TPH (Transaction Processing Hints) and LTR (Latency

Tolerance Reporting) reporting capabilities have been added to the pciutils
package to support the PCI Express 3.0 standard. (BZ#662556, BZ#759744)

All pciutils users are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix
this bug and add this enhancement.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously-released errata relevant
to your system have been applied.

This update is available via the Red Hat Network. Details on how to use the Red
Hat Network to apply this update are available at
https://access.redhat.com/kb/docs/DOC-11259
