Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
Updated spacewalk-java packages that fix several bugs are now available for Red
Hat Network Satellite 5.4.
Description
Red Hat Network Satellite provides a solution to organizations requiring
absolute control over and privacy of the maintenance and package deployment of
their servers.
Bug fixes:
- Previously, Daily Status Report emails included both date and time in their
subject. These emails now only include the date in the MM/DD/YY format.
(BZ#570925)
- Prior to this update, a new configuration revision was created every time a
user uploaded a configuration file via the application programming interface
(API). This happened even if the file content did not change at all. With this
update, a new revision is created only if the new configuration file is
different. (BZ#593300)
- The system.provisionVirtualGuest API call no longer fails with a
NullPointerException. (BZ#648483)
- When cloning a kickstart profile, kernel and kernel post options are now
copied to the new profile as expected. (BZ#692357)
- When setting up a kickstart profile, it is possible to select to delete the
previous system profile and perform a new registration after the system
installation completes. This particular scenario did not work correctly and when
re-provisioning a system using the mentioned kickstart profile, the system in
question ended up being re-activated. This error no longer occurs and this
method now works correctly. (BZ#700711)
- When performing kickstart installation on a machine with Red Hat Enterprise
Linux 5.4 and earlier, %post scripts were not logged to ks-post.log files. Now,
%post scripts are logged for all Red Hat Enterprise Linux kickstarts.
(BZ#702019)
- When using the web user interface, an attempt to subscribe a system to a
channel without having an appropriate channel entitlement no longer fails with
an Internal Server Error, but a proper error message is now displayed.
(BZ#703273)
- Cobbler authentication no longer occasionally fails with an invalid token
exception. (BZ#723060)
- Due to missing Access Control Lists (ACL) entries of certain administration
pages for taskomatic, any logged user was able to read taskomatic's settings.
This update corrects the ACL entries so that taskomatic's settings are now only
available to the Satellite Administrator account. (BZ#724918)
- When a search output had more than 100 results, an error message that informed
the user that the query was larger than 1000 results was displayed. This error
now only occurs if a query has more than 1000 results, as expected. (BZ#725562)
- Red Hat Errata can now be cloned only by users who are entitled to do so.
(BZ#725889)
- Red Hat Errata can no longer be modified by changing the errata ID in the URL
of the rhn/errata/manage/Edit.do page. (BZ#729975)
- Organization administrators are now allowed to modify organizational schedules
such as repository synchronization. (BZ#737838)
- When an erratum was scheduled for an update and then deleted the same day, the
DailySummary taskomatic bunch failed with a NullPointerException. With this
update, the DailySummary taskomatic bunch finishes as expected. (BZ#738988)
- Previously, Quartz, a scheduling core of taskomatic and rhn-search,
incorrectly connected to svn.terracotta.org and checked for updates. This update
ensures that Quartz no longer attempts to connect to any server. (BZ#747037)
- The default file name of initrd on 64-bit PowerPC architectures has changed in
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.2 kickstart trees, rendering such kickstart trees
unavailable to Red Hat Network Satellite. Now, Red Hat Network Satellite
recognizes these kickstart trees as expected. (BZ#756097)
- The Scalable File System repository is now available for Red Hat Enterprise
Linux 6 kickstarts. (BZ#756102)
- Previously, an attempt to change Organization Sharing of a channel to
"private" caused an Internal Server Error to occur. This update corrects this
error and the Organization Sharing of a channel can now be successfully changed.
(BZ#770143)
Users of RHN Satellite should upgrade to these updated packages, which fix these
bugs.
