RHBA-2011:1252 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
Red Hat Network Satellite server spacewalk-java bug fix and enhancement update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Red Hat Insights patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
Updated spacewalk-java packages that fix several bugs are now available for Red
Hat Network Satellite 5.4.
Description
Red Hat Network (RHN) Satellite provides a solution to organizations requiring
absolute control over and privacy of the maintenance and package deployment of
their servers. It allows organizations to utilize the benefits of the Red Hat
Network without having to provide public Internet access to their servers or
other client systems.
This update fixes the following bugs:
- When associating system groups with an activation key, the previous version of
the web user interface listed the groups in random order. This update adapts the
web user interface to list the groups in alphabetical order. (BZ#622013)
- Previously, RHN Errata Alert emails that listed newly synced errata may have
failed to provide a correct list of affected systems. With this update, this
error no longer occurs, and the RHN Errata Alert emails now always contain a
full list of all affected systems without duplicates. (BZ#640535)
- Prior to this update, the maximum length of a name for a newly created channel
was limited to 64 characters, while the limit for a cloned channel was set to
256 characters. To make this consistent, both limits are now set to 256
characters. (BZ#646802)
- When associating packages with an activation key, the previous version of the
web user interface listed the packages in random order. This update adapts the
web user interface to list the packages in alphabetical order. (BZ#654996)
- Previously, the web user interface did not allow a user to sort the systems on
the System Currency Report page. This update adapts the aforementioned page to
allow users to sort the systems according to any of the available columns.
(BZ#658533)
- When modifying virtual guest channel subscriptions in the previous version of
the web user interface, cloned channels were incorrectly marked as consuming
additional entitlements. This error no longer occurs. (BZ#692797)
- Due to an unclosed tag in the HTML source code, the update status icons for
individual groups were not displayed when viewing the System Groups page in the
Google Chrome web browser. This update applies a patch that closes the
aforementioned tag to make sure the page is now rendered correctly. (BZ#693889)
- Prior to this update, when both base and child channel were clones of Red Hat
channels, an attempt to automatically subscribe the system to a child channel
when adding the Virtualization entitlement failed with an error. With this
update, the underlying source code has been adapted to address this issue, and
automatic subscription to a child channel no longer fails in this scenario.
(BZ#703858)
- Due to incorrect handling of activation keys, an attempt to perform kickstart
installation may have failed with the following error written to the ks-post.log
file:
Error Class Info: Conflicting activation tokens
This update ensures that activation keys associated with a kickstart profile are
now handled correctly, and kickstart installation no longer fails. (BZ#706416)
- Previously, when a session expired, the web user interface displayed an HTTP
403 error page (Forbidden). This update adapts the web user interface to prompt
user for a new login in this situation. (BZ#709724)
- The Brazilian Portuguese (pt_BR) translation of the web user interface has
been updated to make sure that it no longer contains incorrectly translated
strings. (BZ#678583)
- The web user interface has been adapted to provide an up-to-date copyright
notice. (BZ#724902)
As well, this update adds the following enhancement:
- The web user interface now allows a user to download the System Currency
Report in the comma-separated values (CSV) format. (BZ#663697)
All users of Red Hat Network Satellite are advised to upgrade to these updated
packages, which fix these bugs.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously-released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
This update is available via the Red Hat Network. Details on how to
