Updated hivex packages that fix a bug and add an enhancement are now available
for Red Hat Linux 6.

Description

Hive files are undocumented binary blobs that Windows uses to
store the Windows Registry on the disk. Hivex is a library that can read
and write to these files.

These updated hivex packages provide the following enhancement:

• The hivex package was updated to the upstream version 1.2.3. This enhancement

provides several stability improvements. (BZ#642631)

In addition, these updated hivex packages fix the following bug:

• Due to a problem with the Perl hivex bindings in the spec file, rebuilding of

source packages could have failed if compiled from the source RPM. With this
update, the issue no longer occurs. (BZ#657017)

All hivex users are advised to upgrade to these updated hivex packages, which
resolve this issue and add this enhancement.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
