Updated Red Hat Network Satellite packages that address various issues with web
UI and provisioning are now available.

Description

Red Hat Network Satellite is a systems management tool for Linux-based
infrastructures. It allows for the provisioning, remote management and
monitoring of multiple Linux deployments with a single, centralized tool.

These updated Red Hat Network Satellite packages provide the following fixes:

• Removal of virtual guests fix (BZ#514554)
• Errata handling fix for cloning a cloned channel (BZ#528170)
• Menu display issue fix for system group page (BZ#529962)
• Fix for loss of activation key during cobbler profile sync (BZ#531122)
• Permissions fix for cobbler sync files (BZ#554567)
• Special characters will not get stripped from kickstart profile names

(BZ#559284)

• "default" system record issue fix (BZ#571459)
• Escape characters preserved in kickstart scripts (BZ#549897)
• ISE fix for SyncSystems.do (BZ#559551)
• General problems with package profile synchronization fixed (BZ#572277)
• Ordering of scheduled actions fixed for provisioning (BZ#558502)
• API python example fixed (BZ#530022, BZ#525298)
• Package removal and verification would not work in older clients (BZ#568958)
• Kickstarts could not be associated to channels shared from other orgs

Users of Red Hat Network Satellite are advised to upgrade to these updated
packages, which resolve these issues.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.

To update all RPMs for your particular architecture, run:

rpm -Fvh [filenames]

where [filenames] is a list of the RPMs you wish to upgrade. Only those
RPMs which are currently installed will be updated. Those RPMs which are
not installed but included in the list will not be updated. Note that you
can also use wildcards (*.rpm) if your current directory *only* contains
the desired RPMs.

Please note that this update is also available via Red Hat Network. Many
people find this an easier way to apply updates. To use Red Hat Network,
launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:

up2date

or, for RHEL 5:

yum update

This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system.

After installing the needed packages you will need to run:

rhn-satellite restart
