Updated lvm2 packages that fix a bug are now available.

Description

The lvm2 packages contain support for Logical Volume Management.

These updated packages applies the following device-mapper bug fix in lvm2
statically built binaries:

• in certain configurations, the device-mapper library that LVM is

statically linked with experienced a segmentation fault when calling a hash
table lookup function. The segmentation fault occurred during the lookup
function when keys of different lengths were compared. The result was that
the LVM utility which caused device-mapper to segmentation fault would
itself crash. This update ensures that the lvm2 packages are linked to the
updated device-mapper packages.

Important: this update must be applied along with the 2010:0134
device-mapper bug fix update in order to fix this issue. (BZ#572223)

Users of lvm2 are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which
resolve this issue.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously-released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
