rhn-ssl-cert-tools bug fix update
Bug Fix Advisory
An updated rhn-ssl-cert-tools package that addresses an issue with a
mistakenly installed spacewalk-ssl-cert-check package generating nightly
cron errors is now available.
rhn-ssl-cert-tools runs a check once a day to see if the ssl certificates
installed on a server are expected to expire in the next 30 days. If they
are, the tool sends an email alert to the system's administrator account.
This update addresses the following issue:
- as part of the RHN Satellite 5.3.0 release, the spacewalk-ssl-cert-check
package was mistakenly placed in the RHN Tools channels. As a consequence,
anyone subscribed to the RHN Tools channel and using RHN Satellite or RHN
Proxy versions 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 5.0, 5.1 or 5.2 saw spurious cron errors
generated nightly. This updated package checks during installation and
removes the spacewalk-ssl-cert-check package if found, replacing it with
rhn-ssl-cert-check and preventing the spurious cron errors from appearing.
All users running RHN Satellite version 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 5.0, 5.1 or 5.2
should install this updated package which fixes this problem.
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
