Topic

An updated sos package that fixes several bugs and adds various
enhancements is now available.

Description

Sos is a set of tools that gathers information about system hardware and
configuration. The information can then be used for diagnostic purposes
and debugging. Sos is commonly used to help support technicians and
developers.

This updated package provides the following bug fixes and enhancements.
Refer to the Red Hat Enteprise Linux 5.4 Technical Notes for details.

  • (BZ#461799) Addition of Directory Server sos plugins
  • (BZ#464207) postfix plugin for sos name does not fit naming convention
  • (BZ#464208) Addition of dovecot plugin
  • (BZ#466819) Addition of netdump plugin
  • (BZ#466947) Addition of IPA plugin
  • (BZ#472108) Addition of Anaconda plugin
  • (BZ#487416) collect the details on cron including the system and user

(potential) error

  • (BZ#477042) rh-upload-core does not upload unless the quiet flag is set

  • (BBZ#503536) - sosreport fails on minimal install without bzip2 installed

All users are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which fixes these
issues and adds these enhancements.

Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied.
