Topic

An enhanced wdaemon package that fixes various bugs and adds an enhancement
is now available.

Description

wdaemon is a helper application which emulates persistent input devices for
Wacom tablets so as to allow them to be plugged-in and unplugged while an
X.org server is running.

This updated wdaemon package upgrades wdaemon to version 0.14 which
includes the following enhancement:

  • in this update, support has been included for the following Wacom

graphics tablets: Wacom Cintiq 20WSX, Wacom Intuos3 4x6,
Wacom Intuos 12x12, Wacom Intuos 12x19, and the Wacom Bamboo.

In addition to this enhancement, the following upstream bug fixes are
provided by this update:

  • previously, wdaemon may have inconsistently failed during system bootup.

With this update, this issue has been resolved.

  • wdaemon was using more system resources than necessary. With this update,

the wdaemon process has been optimized to increase performance.

All users of wdaemon are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which
resolves these issues and provides this enhancement.
