Topic

An updated numactl package that fixes various bugs is now available.

Description

numactl is Simple NUMA policy support. It consists of a numactl program to
run other programs with a specific NUMA policy, as well as a libnuma
library with which to do allocations with NUMA policy in applications.

These updated numactl packages provide fixes for the following bugs:

  • the command "numactl --physcpubind" gave incorrect results for systems

with more than 63 CPUs due to an off-by-one error.

  • the description for the numa_node_to_cpus() function in the numa(3)

manual page has been updated and clarified.

  • the declaration for the get_mempolicy() function has been changed to

avoid the risk of invalid compile-time checks.

All users of numactl are advised to upgrade to these updated packages,
which resolve these issues.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.

This update is available via Red Hat Network. Details on how to use the Red
Hat Network to apply this update are available at
http://kbase.redhat.com/faq/docs/DOC-11259
