RHBA-2008:0798 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
conga bug fix and enhancement update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated conga packages that fix various bugs and add various enhancements
are now available.
Description
The Conga package is a web-based administration tool for remote cluster and
storage management.
These packages address the following bugs:
- The fence_scsi nodename input field was disabled, inhibiting users from
configuring scsi fencing via Conga. Users are now able to configure scsi
fencing through Conga with these updated packages.
- If shared storage support is requested when creating a cluster or adding
a cluster node, the sg3_utils package should be installed if necessary, and
the fence_reserve service should be started when using shared storage.
These packages update the Conga package so that the sg3_utils package is
installed when necessary and the fence_reservce service is started when
shared storage is being used.
- There was a bug which asked the user to input the password for the node
used to retrieve the cluster configuration twice, when adding an existing
cluster to luci. With these updated packages the user only has to input the
node password once.
- On the quorum disk preferences page, the input fields for interval and
TKO were separated by the votes input box. As interval multiplied by TKO
gives the failure detection time it seemed correct to place the two fields
together. These two fields are now placed together with these updated packages.
- There was an issue where when a failed node returned to the cluster, the
services would fall back to the node and fail when the node failed again.
The ability was added for users to specify that services should not be
failed back when a node returns to the cluster after failing.
As well, these updated packages add the following enhancements:
- An additional checkbox for clusterfs (GFS) resource configuration with
the label "Reboot host node if unmount fails" has been added. When checked,
the self_fence attribute is set in the <clusterfs> XML tag in the cluster.conf.
- Support has been added for the Oracle resource agent.
Users of conga should upgrade to these updated packages, which resolve
these issues and add these enhancements.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
To update all RPMs for your particular architecture, run:
rpm -Fvh [filenames]
where [filenames] is a list of the RPMs you wish to upgrade. Only those
RPMs which are currently installed will be updated. Those RPMs which are
not installed but included in the list will not be updated. Note that you
can also use wildcards (*.rpm) if your current directory *only* contains the
desired RPMs.
Please note that this update is also available via Red Hat Network. Many
people find this an easier way to apply updates. To use Red Hat Network,
launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:
up2date
This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system.
