Topic

An updated nfs-utils package that fixes various bugs is now available.

Description

The nfs-utils package provides a daemon for the kernel NFS server and
related tools.

This updated nfs-utils package includes fixes for the following bugs:

  • the method of setting lockd ports was updated.
  • rpc.mountd would crash when large numbers of NFS shares were exported due

to a string size error in the auth_authenticate_internal() function.

  • the RPM spec file was incorrectly attempting to verify attributes on

certain files in /var/lib/nfs.

  • init script global sanity checks have been changed to occur only at

service startup.

  • rpc.mountd memory usage would sometimes grow to several hundred megabytes

within a few days.

All users of nfs-utils are advised to upgrade to this updated package,
which resolves these issues.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied.

This update is available via Red Hat Network. Details on how to use
