Topic

An enhanced wdaemon package that fixes various bugs and adds an enhancement
is now available.

Description

wdaemon is a helper application which emulates persistent input devices for
Wacom tablets so as to allow them to be plugged-in and unplugged while an
X.org server is running.

This updated wdaemon package upgrades wdaemon to the newer 0.14 version of
wdaemon, which includes fixes for the following bugs:

  • an initrd bug sometimes caused the daemon to fail to start during boot;

this issue has been rectified in this updated package.

  • wdaemon used more processor than was necessary. With this update, wdaemon

utilizes fewer CPU cycles than before.

  • an error in the initrd initialization messages has been corrected in this

updated package.

In addition, this updated wdaemon package provides support for the
following Wacom tablets: Cintiq 20wsx, Intuos3 4x6, Intuos 12x12, Intuos
12x19, and the Wacom Bamboo.

All users of wdaemon are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which
resolves these issues and provides this enhancement.
