An updated iprutils package that fixes several bugs and adds an enhancement
is now available.

Description

The iprutils package provides utilities to manage and configure SCSI
devices supported by the ipr SCSI storage device driver.

This updated package fixes the following bugs:

• the rdisc init script returned incorrect error codes, which may have

caused the wrong status to be returned. In this updated package, the init
script has been updated to more closely conform to distribution-wide
guidelines.

• the iprupdate init script incorrectly ran "iprdump", instead of

"iprupdate".

• when the iprutils init scripts were stopped, they did not remove the

lock files they created.

• the iprutils init scripts did not check for the existence of lock files,

which may have allowed daemons to run multiple times. As well, this may
have caused the init script "condrestart" option to have no effect. In
this updated package, the init scripts correctly check the status of lock
files, which resolves this issue.

As well, this updated package upgrades iprutils to version 2.2.8, which
includes support for dual HA controller functionality, as found on certain
newer SCSI adapters.

Users of iprutils are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which
resolves these issues and adds this enhancement.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied.
