Synopsis
yum bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Red Hat Insights patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
An updated yum package that fixes a bug is now available.
Description
Yum is a utility that can check for and automatically download and
install updated RPM packages. Dependencies are obtained and downloaded
automatically, prompting the user as necessary.
This updated yum package addresses the following bug:
- yum would not allow for a URL to be used as a parameter of the -c option
which specifies the location of the configuration file even though the man
page stated this functionality was available. This updated package fixes
this issue and allows for a URL to be used with the -c option.
Users of yum should upgrade to this updated package, which resolves this
issue.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied.
