Updated dhcp packages that fix several bugs are now available.

Description

The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a protocol that allows
individual devices on an IP network to get their own network configuration
information, including an IP address, a subnet mask, and a broadcast
address.

These updated packages fix the following bugs:

• symbols in "libdhcp4client.so" caused collisions with symbols of the

same name in other libraries. In these updated packages, symbol collisions
no longer occur.

• the dhcrelay and dhcpd init scripts returned incorrect error codes. As

well, this may have caused multiple "OK" or "FAILED" messages to appear
when stopping the dhcrelay and dhcpd init scripts. In these updated
packages, the dhcrelay and dhcpd init scripts are Linux Standard Base (LSB)
compliant, which resolves these issues.

• in the previous dhcp packages, the "/sbin/restorecon" section of the

dhcpd init script was run on "/var/lib/dhcp/dhcpd.leases", instead of
"/var/lib/dhcpd/dhcpd.leases". When SELinux was running in "Enforcing"
mode, the DHCP server was unable to run correctly. In these updated
packages, the correct path to the "dhcpd.leases" file is used, which
resolves this issue.

• in certain situations, during an NFS installation, after entering the NFS

server name and directory, a traceback and a "ImportError:
/usr/lib/libdhcp.so.1: undefined symbol: global_scope" error occurred. In
these updated packages, NFS installations work as expected, which resolves
this issue.

Users of dhcp are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which
resolve these issues.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied.
