Topic

Updated device-mapper packages that include various bug fixes and
enhancements are now available.

Description

The device-mapper packages provide a library required by logical volume
management utilities such as LVM2 and dmraid.

This update provides the following bug fixes and enhancements:

  • Adds readahead support to libdevmapper and dmsetup.
  • Allows a DM_DEV_DIR environment variable to override /dev in dmsetup.
  • Splits event daemon subpackage to fix package dependences in multilib

installations.

  • Fixes dmsetup -o devno string termination.
  • Fixes a double memory deallocation in event error path.
  • Fixes some error messages to always use standard error output.

All users of device-mapper should upgrade to these updated packages, which
resolve these issues and include these enhancements.

Solution

errata relevant to your system have been applied.
