RHBA-2007:0996 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
fence bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated fence packages that fix various bugs are now available.
Description
The fence packages allow failed or unreachable nodes to forcibly be
restarted and removed from a cluster.
These updated packages fix the followings bugs:
- fence_egenera would fence a node during a crash dump, causing a
truncated crash dump file.
- Integrated Lights Out 2 (iLO2) with Remote Insight Board Command
Language (RIBCL) v2.22 behaves differently than Integrated Lights Out
(iLO) with RIBCL v2.22. This caused problems with the fence_ilo "Power"
commands. iLO and iLO2 fencing now works correctly with RIBCL v2.22. Also,
iLO2 firmware v1.30 and later is now supported for fence_ilo.
- fencing failed when using fence_apc and an APC AP7911 Switch. In these
updated packages fence_apc works correctly with the APC AP7911 Switch.
- a bug in fence_bullpap that caused timeouts has been resolved.
- a bug which could cause fenced to crash in certain situations has been
resolved.
- when fencing a virtual node, a bug in fence_xvm could have caused data
corruption in a file open by another node.
This update also adds the following enhancements:
- fence_mcdata has been updated to work with the 09.00.00.76 McDATA
Fibre Channel switch firmware.
- fence_ipmi has been updated to support iLO2 interfaces for fencing. You
can now specify whether to use the fence_impi "lanplus" option.
All fence users are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which
resolve these issues.
