Topic

Updated iscsi-initiator-utils packages that fix various bugs are now
available.

Description

The iscsi-initiator-utils package provides the server daemon for the iSCSI
protocol, as well as the utility programs used to manage it. iSCSI is a
protocol for distributed disk access using SCSI commands sent over Internet
Protocol networks.

Bugs fixed in these updated packages include:

  • iscsi doesn't shutdown cleanly when used with dm-multipath and mounting

file sytsems by label.

  • iscsi-ls displayed the wrong driver version number.
  • iscsi-ls -l lists a blank "Type" field when the type is unknown.
  • iscsi-ls -l hangs if target is unreachable.
  • A double close on the discovery socket by iscsid leads to syslog message

sent over discovery socket.

Users are advised to upgrade to these updated iscsi-initiator-utils
packages, which resolve these issues.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.

This update is available via Red Hat Network. To use Red Hat Network,
launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:

up2date

This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system.
