Updated udev packages which fix several bugs are now available.

Description

The udev package is an implementation of devfs in userspace using sysfs and
/sbin/hotplug. It requires a 2.6 kernel to run properly.

The following bugs have been fixed with this update:

• CAPI device nodes were not created by udev in the right place.
• The cpu device nodes were created with another name than x86info is using.
• udevd segfaulted occasionally on AMD64 and Intel EM64T

Additional symbolic links for SCSI devices are now created under /dev/disk.

All users should upgrade to these updated packages, which resolve these issues.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied. Use Red Hat
Network to download and update your packages. To launch the Red Hat
Update Agent, use the following command:

up2date
