RHBA-2006:0173 - Bug Fix Advisory

  • Overview

Synopsis

rgmanager bug fix update

Type/Severity

Bug Fix Advisory

Topic

An updated rgmanager package that fixes various bugs is now available.

Description

The rgmanager package contains the Red Hat Resource Group Manager, which
provides high availability of critical server applications in the event of
planned or unplanned system downtime.

The following issues have been discovered and addressed in this update:

  • scripts are now allowed to inherit the name attribute of a parent
  • output from clustat -x now provides proper values for the owner and

last_owner attributes

  • fixed a problem in clustat that caused it to fail when starting if the

user was not root

  • ip.sh no longer fails when using a VLAN on a bonded interface
  • fixed a problem with clustat witholding information if it was run on

multiple members simultaneously

  • fixed alignment issues on the Itanium architecture
  • a Samba resource agent was added
  • rgmanager no longer requires a restart to change the log level
  • fixed a bug that caused clustat to crash if ccsd was not running
  • fixed a bug that caused 'lsof -b' to block when using gethostbyname,

causing a slow force-unmount if DNS was not working

  • fixed a bug that caused rgmanager to use the wrong stop order for

unspecified resource agents

  • rgmanager now inherits the fsid for nfs exports
  • unneeded references to clurmtabd were removed
  • fixed a bug that caused rgmanager to store individual resources states

instead of service states.

Users are advised to upgrade to this updated rgmanager package, which
resolves these issues.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.

This update is available via Red Hat Network. To use Red Hat Network,
launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:

up2date

This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system.
