Topic

Updated anaconda and anaconda-runtime packages that fix various
installation bugs are now available.

Description

The anaconda package contains portions of the Red Hat Linux installation
program that can be run by the user for reconfiguration and advanced
installation options. The anaconda-runtime package contains parts of the
Red Hat Linux installer which are needed for installing new systems.

This update addresses the following issues encountered during installation:

• Fixes various issues with LVM support
• Adds modules for storage devices
• Fixes NFS mounting when DNS is not in use
• Fixes installation on IBM zSeries with no DASD devices
• Fixes various dialog boxes and installer text
• Adds support for ksdevice=bootif
• Fixes argument handling for kickstart sections
• Fixes handling of the "noparport" option

All users of anaconda should upgrade to these updated packages, which
resolve these issues.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied. Use Red Hat
Network to download and update your packages. To launch the Red Hat
Update Agent, use the following command:

up2date

• BZ - 168327 - Russian translation causes option(radio button) to be hidden
• BZ - 170331 - [PATCH] loader can't parse kickstart correctly when %pre, %post, or %packages have options/args
• BZ - 172030 - From/To arch reversed in cross-arch upgrade warning.
• BZ - 172588 - rescue mode dialogues are broken (maybe text mode install is too); can't enable networking
