Updated oprofile packages that resolve various bugs are now available.

Description

The oprofile package contains a profiling system for systems running Linux
2.2/2.4. Profiling runs transparently in the background, and profile data
can be collected at any time.

The following issues have been resolved:

• Previously, oprofile was unable to find the symbols in files due to

changes in bfd on ppc64.

• Previously, opannotate crashed on the ppc64 architecture.

All users of oprofile should upgrade to these updated packages, which
resolve these issues.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.

This update is available via Red Hat Network. To use Red Hat Network,
launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:

up2date

This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system.
