RHBA-2005:602 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
RPM bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated RPM packages correcting an issue with obsoletes are now available.
Description
The RPM Package Manager (RPM) is a powerful command line driven package
management system capable of installing, uninstalling, verifying, querying,
and updating software packages.
An issue which prevented obsoleting packages with identical versioning
identifiers has been corrected. An issue when upgrading /var/log/lastlog,
which is a sparse file on 64-bit systems, has been corrected.
All users of RPM should upgrade to these updated packages, which
resolve this issue.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
This update is available via Red Hat Network. To use Red Hat Network,
