Topic

Updated anaconda, anaconda-runtime, booty, netconfig, pump-devel, and rhpl
packages that fix various installation bugs are now available.

Description

The anaconda package contains portions of the Red Hat Linux installation
program that can be run by the user for reconfiguration and advanced
installation options. The anaconda-runtime package contains parts of the
Red Hat Linux installer which are needed for installing new systems. The
booty package is a small python library. The netconfig package is a
text-based tool for simple configuration of ethernet devices. The
pump-devel package provides system developers the ability to send BOOTP and
DHCP requests from their programs. The rhpl package contains Python code
used by programs in Red Hat Linux.

These packages contain portions of the installation program that can be run
by the user for reconfiguration and advanced installation options.

This update addresses the following problems encountered during installation:

• resolv.conf written incorrectly when using kickstart and dhcp (#151472)
• Add support for setting MTU on command line (#155414)
• Add support booting off of software raid on ppc (#159902)
• kernel-devel selection error on SMP systems (#160533, #162581)
• Partition tables rescan failure (#160720)
• Get pesize for existing LVM
• Fix setup of indic keyboards

All users of anaconda should upgrade to these updated packages, which
resolve these issues.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied. Use Red Hat
Network to download and update your packages. To launch the Red Hat
Update Agent, use the following command:

up2date
