Topic

Updated anaconda packages that fix various issues related to installation
are now available.

Description

The anaconda package contains portions of the installation program which
can be run by the user for reconfiguration and advanced installation options.

This update addresses the following problems encountered during installation:

• Specification of multiple DNS server on the boot command line fixed
• Specification of the dhcpclass on the command line fixed
• Formatting of unused fcp disks (IBM S/390) fixed
• Support for parsing pxelinux IPAPPEND options for IP information fixed
• Reset package selections to defaults as appropriate
• Improved sanity checking of installation tree
• Various partitioning corner cases fixed
• Fixed boot issues on IBM eServer iSeries systems upgraded from Red Hat

Enterprise Linux 3

• Followed specified ethtool settings in more cases
• Fixed exit of Xvnc at the end of an installation
• Allowed logical partitions to go all the way to the end of an extended

volume when specifying by cylinder

• Fixed handler of 'bootloader --location=none'
• Fixed handling of name.arch package selection in kickstart
• Fixed various string freeing issues

All users of anaconda should upgrade to these updated packages, which
resolve these issues.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied. Use Red Hat
Network to download and update your packages. To launch the Red Hat
Update Agent, use the following command:

up2date
