An updated devlabel package that fixes various bugs is now available.

Description

The devlabel package allows for consistent mounting of devices, through
tagging a unique identifier to each device/symlink combination. It then
confirms that the identifier still matches the device name before it allows
the symlink mapping to proceed.

The devlabel package has been updated to the latest upstream version,
0.48.03, which fixes various minor issues, including:

• Added a check in scsi_unique_id to determine if Page80/Page83

indentifier data are supported before checking for the identifier.

• Added feature that automatically filters out regular-expression type

characters from UUIDs.

• Cleaned up temporary files after using them.
• Removed hard coded paths to external applications used by devlabel.
• Added support for reiserfs partition UUIDs.
• Fixed JFS partition UUID support.
• Fixed UUID support for partitions. File systems affected were the 10th or

greater partitions on a disk.

All users of devlabel should upgrade to this updated package, which
resolves these issues.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied. Use Red Hat
Network to download and update your packages. To launch the Red Hat
Update Agent, use the following command:

up2date
