Red Hat Developer Toolset (DTS) not showing up on RHEL7 server

Latest response

I just purchased the following subscription and installed RHEL7 Server x86_64 on a Fedora 20 hosted KVM/libvirt VM:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Developer Suite

The 1st command shows that I have access to DTS, but the 2nd command shows that the repo is not available.

AFAIK, DTS is currently only available for RHEL 5 and 6. I would assume DTS for RHEL 7 will become available as upstream versions (or new packages/projects) begin to diverge from base RHEL 7. I'll check to verify...

Thank you. However, do note that the DTS 2.1 documentation states that you should install a meta package such as "devtoolset-2", but those meta packages do not exist in the RHEL7 base repo or optional repo. Should I use the package group "Development Tools" instead? And should the DTS documentation be updated for RHEL7?

DTS hasn't been certified/supported for RHEL 7 yet. Stay tuned...

Mike, would Red Hat Software Collections 1.1 (now GA) be of use to you? I believe Red Hat Software Collections 1.1 supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 and 7.

  • Here is more info

  • And lastly, this link

  • RHEL7 documentation on RHCSL. NOTE: this last link specifically mentions Red Hat DTS along with RHEL 7 and further cites this link, but when I visited that link, it did only seem to limit it to rhel 5/6. Odd that the release notes for RHEL 7 would point to DTS.

Kind Regards,

Thanks, but it is not of use to me at this time.
I bought this subscription to help me develop the open source project that I contribute to in my free time, X2Go. It's in EPEL, so it uses the base versions of Python, Perl, etc.
That said, RHSCL is available for me to install, I can confirm that. And I consider RHSCL to be very cool :)

the main problem, that eclipse not included in rhel7 and since dts is not available for rhel7 currently there is no eclipse packages for rhel7!
