No Package MT-ST Available

Latest response

Hi,

I am attempting to install MT-ST on RHEL 6.5 but get the following error "No Package MT-ST available."

I have used yum install mt-st, it starts to install and then I receive that error.

My main goal is two mount two magnetic tape drives, then copy a full tape to an empty tape direct from drive 1 to drive 2.

Any suggestions?

Hi Andy,

What happens when you execute the below command as root?

yum repolist

Did you activate your Red Hat subscription with Red Hat? I checked and the package mt-st is available here from Red Hat and you should be able to access it via your yum commands.

The rpm you are looking for is available, but I'm curious if you are able to access the yum repo from Red Hat Inc. Typically the yum repositories are available after registering your subscription with Red Hat Inc.

Or try (thanks James, you posted this previously in a different discussion)

rhnreg_ks
or
rhn_register

Also see this discussion, and later when your yum repo works, check this discussion

Let us know how it goes, Kind Regards...

Are you are doing this while connected to a satellite server? If so, make sure the proper channels are set for that client system in the web gui of the Satellite Server.
