rhevm 3.3 notification service fails

Latest response

Hi,

I just upgraded the rhevm 3.1 to version 3.2. After I updated to version 3.3 rhevm.

I have noticed that the notification service has changed. But I fail this boot.

chkconfig --list | grep -i notif

ovirt-engine-notifier 0:off 1:off 2:on 3:on 4:on 5:on 6:off

/etc/init.d/ovirt-engine-notifier restart

Stopping oVirt Engine Notifier: [FAILED]
Starting oVirt Engine Notifier: [FAILED]

cat /etc/ovirt-engine/notifier/notifier.conf | grep -v ^

MAIL_SERVER=192.168.1.2
MAIL_PORT=25

No it can be. Any idea?

Thanks!

What does /var/log/ovirt-engine/notifier/notifier.log report? You may want to open a case about this so we can dig a bit deeper. Once you open a case, please reference this discussion.

The problem was that the file /var/log/ovirt-engine/notifier/notifier.log had write permissions only for root. To fix it just change by the builder and owner oVirt.

After restart the service and everything works normally. It is seen that this was a problem for the update, people should check this Red Hat.

Thanks!
