  • How to install cockpit-389-ds on RHEL8

    Posted on

    Hi.

We are in the process of migrating the 389-ds Red Hat Enterprise Linux from RHDS-10 on RHEL7 to RHDS-11 on RHEL8.

In RHEL7 we had to install the following packages:
    389-ds-base
    389-admin (EPEL)
    389-ds-console (EPEL)
    389-console (EPEL)

I've read about the changes between the RHEL versions and noticed that in RHEL8 389-ds-base RPM is now a module (yum module enable 389-ds) and the admin & consoles are now part of the cockpit-389-ds.

Is it possible to install/enable cockpit-389-ds on a RHEL8 machine without having a Red Hat Directory Server (RHDS)
    subscription?

    Regards,
    Mihaela
