RHEL 6.0 Installation DVD will not boot

Latest response

I find this perplexing.. I initially installed RHEL 6.0 workstation from the DVD
Now when I try to boot from it again the DVD drive lights up I can hear the drive spinning, then after a few seconds the light goes out
and the system boots from the harddrive.
I have the DVD as the FIRST Boot Device in my BIOS setup
The media looks good (very very clean no scratches or smudges)
Yet for some strange reason it's not boot from the installation DVD
I would appreciate any and all ideas and suggestions

I would double-check that the DVD drive is working fine.

I disconnected my harddrive and the system booted from the DVD it can "see" the USB drive I have plugged in but of course there's no hard drive. I'll try shutting it down reconnect the hard drive and see if it will boot from the DVD

Try newer media - like RHEL 6.5. You might have a system that isn't supported on 6.0. Is the system in the HCL at http://hardware.redhat.com?

If you are using "boot from EFI device" (in your BIOS), change it to boot from legacy. Otherwise, if you are currently booting from legacy, try updating it to boot from EFI.

Well I'm not sure why, but when I changed my BIOS boot options from advanced to normal the system did boot from the DVD (boot drive order remained the same)
So it's an "ugly win" but I'll take it. Thanks to you all for your help and suggestions.
