Upgrading Redhat Satellite in different Operating System Version

Hello does anyone have experience to upgrade the existing redhat satellite in redhat satellite in a newer operating system because the old operating system will end of life support. For example if you are currently upgrading redhat satellite in RHEL 7 and will be upgraded to RHEL 8. what is the concern and does the same license still apply or need to buy a new redhat satellite license according to the base os version?
