  • Couldn't canonicalize : Permission denied to SFTP folder

    Posted on

    Hi,

    I've set up a new folder for SFTP use. Unfortunately, unable to access the same.

    Steps Involved:

    1) mkdir /xxx/sftpfolder
    2) chown -R sftpuser:sftpgrp sftpfolder
    3) setfacl -m u::rwx sftpfolder
    4) setfacl -m g::rwx sftpfolder
    5) chmod g+s sftpfolder

    Output:

    getfacl sftpfolder

    file: sftpfolder
    owner: sftpuser
    group: sftpgrp
    flags: -s-
    users::rwx
    group::rwx
    others::---

    Access the folder:

    sftp sftpuser@xxx.host.com
    sftp>
    sftp> cd /xxx/sftpfolder
    Couldn't canonicalize: Permission denied

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!
