  • New installation: Boot option to ignore installed OS and install new OS from USB drive using existing file systems.

Is there a boot option that will ignore the installed OS and begin
a new installation from a USB drive? Doing it's dracut thing without
timing out and using the existing file systems? I want to do that
to an existing redhat 7.2 installation and install 8.8. I'm not
using logical volumes. This would solve my problem.

    Hardware issue:

I have two Dell r430s, one with a PERC H330 Mini and another with
the H730 version, plus an r630 with the same H330. Getting the
dreaded dracut-initqueue timeout. The H330s are the
Broadcom / LSI MegaRAID SAS-3 3008 [Fury] [1000:005f] and the
megaraid_sas driver supports it. I can connect to the file systems
in the dracut emergency shell, so the driver is working.

    Thanks,

    Alex
