  • Upgrade 6.10 to 7.9

I know upgrading is frowned upon but this system will be very hard to rebuild from scratch. I have successfully ran the preupg tool removed anything that failed and the system prepped. I successfully ran the redhat-upgrade-tool --iso rhel-server-7.9-x86_64-dvd.iso --cleanup-post and the system has me reboot. The issue is even though grub shows that the system is going to boot from the initramfs-redhat-upgrade-tool.img the system only shows the old boot images in the grub menu. I have tried everything to get the grub boot menu to update. I have ensured the grub.conf is set right in the locations symlink is correct. I even attempted to update the grub boot loader directly and change the options to boot the initramfs-redhat-upgrade-tool.img but that failed. Any assistance would be appreciated.
