  • One SAN disk mounted to 2 Linux servers

    Posted on

    Hello all,
has anybody tried to mount one SAN disk to 2 servers? I need this setup for "Hyperswap FS" for Oracle. Idea is that SAN guy has exported one LUN for 2 servers. I have created PV/VG/LV and FS on one machine. Afterwards I have just discovered the PV/VG/LV on second server and mounted it, both servers same mount point name.
Now the issue: when I create a file on server 1 , the file is not visible immediately from server 2 ... only if I unmount and then mount back the filesystem. I need to pop up the files immediately .... has anybody tried it?

PS. the SAN is of course managed by multipath on the servers.

    Thanks in advance.
    Ivan
