  • Password authentication failure

    Posted on

I've encountered this error when logging in "Sorry, password authentication didn't work. Please try again."
There was no way for me to log in with any user account. I could only go into emergency mode. I ran tail /var/log/secure and saw this listed:

Pam unable to dlopen(/lib64/security/pam_duo.so): /lib64/security/pam_duo.so: cannot open shared object file:No Such file or directory

I was installing pre-requisite packages for Petalinux. Not sure what package(s) or if it was something else caused this error.

I do have the system setup with Duo Linux.

What can I do to revert this back to how it was? I didn't make any backups but would like to find a way to back up the /home folder at the very least before performing a clean install (If that's the last route)

    Cheers,
