ext3/ext4 FS > 16 TB ?

Latest response

Hi,

I see this KB article https://access.redhat.com/knowledge/solutions/53431

So, has there been any improvement/progress in RHEL 6.2/RHEL 6.3 where this limitation has been overcome so that one can create ext4 of >16 TB ?

If not, what is the other recourse ?

Will appreciate your response.

Thanks,

Dharmesh.

How about XFS? :-)

Hi Andrius,

Yes, XFS is there. I just wanted to check whether the scenario with ext4 has improved or not.

So, I take that even with RHEL 6.3, there is still a 16TB limitation on file-system size for ext4, correct ?

Thanks,

Dharmesh.

Dharmesh - correct - ext4 limits are still valid at 16TB per file system.

Thanks Andrius, appreciate the confirmation.

Regards,

Dharmesh.
