Can not create bond for rhevm
Hello!
Sorry for my english.
I install RHEV in test environment.
I have server with 2 NIC interface and I want bonding interface.
Now
- eth0 - eth0.2 - rhevm
- eth1
I try create bond
I hope get
- eth0 _
\
bond2 - bond2.2 - rhevm
- eth1 _/
But after bonding interface in RHEV-M I lost communication with host.
I found rhev-h have not bond2.2
rhev-h # brctl show
bridge name bridge id STP enabled interfaces
rhevm 8000.9c8e993066d0 no bond2
Is it possible use bond interface for rhevm ?

But I'm trying to do exactly the same and doesn't work. I have created a support case with Red Hat in order to know what is the problem. If I find anything else I'll tell you.
I assume you've created - eth0 - eth0.2 - rhevm manually but are using the default data center, right?
That is your problem, it means that as far as RHEV Manager is concerned in it's database rhevm network is not on top of a vlan thus it removed the vlan.
What you should do:
- Make sure you are using RHEV 3.0.3 and above
- Make sure you have Vlan tag on the RHEV Manager's server
This you probably already have done - Add the VLAN on the host and placed the rhevm bridge on top
Again this you have done - Create a new DataCenter don't use the default.
ATM you can't edit the rhevm network properties when there are clusters in a data center - Edit the rhevm network to have the desired VLAN tag
(There is a bug, here - the dialogue shows a Red text saying that rhevm network could not be detached from the clusters. - There are not clusters in this DC at this time. Just ignore the message) - Create a cluster in the new data center
- Add the host to the cluster
Now there is a VLAN tag on the RHEV-Manager network both on the hosts and in the DB
You can now bond the interface on which rhevm is configured with another interface
Simon, is there any expected date to be able to edit rhevm network vlan tag in default datacenter?
Thanks

I received this from Red Hat Support:
<cut> The steps mentioned in KB :https://access.redhat.com/knowledge/solutions/43070 are supported. Additional note: * Only tagged vlan are supported (tagged-vlans = vlan-id > 0), untagged-vlans are not supported * rhevm should be of version =>; rhev-3.0.3 <cut> Regards Rajesh Konduskar GSS,Red Hat Inc.
