Might be possible to do with a custom hook, there are examples at http://docs.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Virtualization/3.0/html-single/Administration_Guide/index.html#VDSM_Hooks
Just keep in mind that vdsm hooks are an external plugin mechanism, and are not officially supported. I mean the hooking mechanism itself is of course supported, but not the hook scripts themselves.
If you develop a useful hook that you take into production later on, and will require full support for the functionality it provides, you'll need to open an RFE for the fuctionality through a support case
I haven't heard any complaints, so I suppose the t/s managed to get it working. As for getting hooks into the main featureset - there's a procedure for this - you need to open a feature request using a support ticket
We have a feature request open for NPIV support in RHEV, but there is currently no release target.
