How to disable nfsiod in NFS deamon?

My understanding is that nfsiod is implemented as a kernel task in RHEL5, hence seeing the process name in brackets in a ps.
[root@m0000001 ~]# ps auwx | grep -i nfsiod
root 996 0.0 0.0 61152 780 pts/1 S+ 02:03 0:00 grep -i nfsiod
root 27379 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? S< Aug08 0:00 [nfsiod] <-- this is a kernel task.
Are you trying to disable NFS in its entirety? Which RHEL version are you running? What is the requirement for disabling nfsiod?
