how to install failed packages on RHEL5.5?

Hi,

 

Am new to linux. I have installed RHEL5.5 using dell utility and RHEL5.5 installation CD's.

After installation updated and tried to install " R " software. While installaing many packages not installed like gcc, c, etc. Kinldy look it screenshot. Could anyone help me to solve this problem? Thanks in advance..

No screenshot appears to have been included or referenced with this post.

Have you activated Red Hat Network on this new host? If not, have you configured a Yum repo for the installation CDs? You will need to do one of these two things to deploy packages without using RPM by hand.

Hi Sathish,

 

I'm not quite sure what the "Dell utility" is (you'll have to go through Dell directly for support for this) but you might want to take a look at the official Installation Guide for RHEL 5:

This link is to English, but there are other languages available.

You will create a base repository and will be able to use Yum to install packages dealing with dependencies.
