Continued annoyance with RPM changelog output truncated on portal

Latest response

Since I have complained in BZ and to GSS, I figured I would do so here as well :) Its very annoying that RPM changelog output is truncated on this portal. For example today's kernel errata:

https://rhn.redhat.com/network/software/packages/change_log.pxt?pid=832277

notice the last line of

Petr Holasek <pholasek@redhat.com> [2.6.32-431.1.1.el6]
<snip>
- [input] wacom: do not report ABS_MISC on TPC2FG touch device (Aristeu Rozans

Unfortunately, this is a known issue... Since 2008! :(

Come on Red Hat, you can fix this :)

This is good feedback, Daryl - thanks for giving it some exposure here. Anyone else affected by this issue as well?

Pretty frustrating to see the referenced bugzilla entry now private.

Hello Daryl,

Customer Bugzillas in general are private to protect customer information, but you can still get updates via linked support case(s) or request to be added to cc on the Bugzilla.

About the changelog truncation, the fix was released to RHN Classic/Hosted as of today 2014-04-23 so that when the changelog is too long and truncated in the UI, a message is displayed letting user know how to query the RPM directly via --changelog option for the complete text.

Hope this helps and please let us know if you need any further info or assistance.
