RHEL 6.5 Beta Repolist

Linux expertise: moderate
RHEL expertise: minimal
Question:
Just completed a fresh install of 6.5 and registered the system with rhn classic. The default repolist only contains: rhel-x86_64-server-6. I was going to add Server Optional and then noticed the Beta Channels. The Beta Channels don't show version information but speculating it's for 6.5. Are the Beta Channels a delta or full view? Do I have to chain beta(6.5) and released(6.4)channels? Well rather than list all my questions related to yum updates for the 6.5 beta, could someone provide a very simple summary for the 6.5 beta subscription. Or just show a simple repolist for the server-base + server-optional. Thanks in advance

Thomas, I believe you installed the Beta - RHEL 6.5 GA has not been released yet. The Beta is a full release though as you were seeing.

Also, you most likely consumed a production entitlement for a non-production Beta release. I don't think the Beta has an Optional channel, only the Supplementary channel. The GA version will have all child channels as you were expecting.

So, if you were looking at putting a server into production, I'd install 6.4 instead of 6.5 Beta.
