Hello,

What version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux are you trying to install VLC on?

I found this guide on installing VLC on RHEL6:

Calvin.. ANy luck getting VLC install... No luck here either

I would probably add an external yum repo that includes VLC, maybe nux-dextop? Obviously this would be outside Red Hat's scope of support coverage, but might get you going...

I'm running VLC from the third-party ATrpms repo. It works fine, though if you have other third-party repos like RPMForge, you'll probably find some packages from those repos conflict with each other.

I just installed Fluendo Oneplay and it works perfectly and it was very easy to install. I don't mind having to pay if there is no reliable free solution. I tried the 3rd party repositories and all had missing dependencies or were altogether off-line.

how i can vlc install in my redhat7 linux

Hi Borhan, execute the following commands :

sudo subscription-manager repos --enable rhel-7-server-extras-rpms
sudo subscription-manager repos --enable rhel-7-server-optional-rpms

(replace "server" with "desktop or "workstation" when you are running one of these editions)

sudo rpm -Uvh https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/epel-release-latest-7.noarch.rpm
sudo rpm -Uvh https://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/el/rpmfusion-free-release-7.noarch.rpm
sudo rpm -Uvh https://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfree/el/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-7.noarch.rpm

sudo yum update
sudo yum install vlc

Regards,
Christian
