OpenOffice crashes on RHEL8

I followed the guide from
https://computingforgeeks.com/install-apache-openoffice-on-rhel-centos-8

however, when I start soffice I always get

/opt/openoffice4/program/soffice: line 121: 20553 Segmentation fault

can anybody help?
