Red Hat Developer Toolset 2.0 is now Generally Available!
gcc developers - this is what you've been asking for!
Red Hat Developer Toolset V2.0 is now generally available.
Red Hat has "announced the general availability of Red Hat Developer Toolset 2.0. Available to all Red Hat customers with an active Red Hat Enterprise Linux Developer subscription, Red Hat Developer Toolset provides access to the latest stable versions of open source development tools on a separate, accelerated life cycle."
Delivered as a parallel set of the latest stable tools to those provided with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Developer Toolset (or DTS) 2.0 adds important new tools and updates to V1.0:
- Eclipse 4.3 (Kepler)
- gcc 4.8
- Dyninst 8.0
- Strace 4.7
Red Hat Developer Toolset enables C, C++, and Fortran developers to compile once and then deploy across multiple versions of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (i..e compile on RHEL 5, deploy on either RHEL 5 or 6). Plus, new tools help you to more quickly diagnose and debug applications, and even analyze application performance to isolate memory and management issues.
If any of you are looking for the newest stable version of other languages (Ruby/Rails, Python, PHP, Perl, Node.js) or databases (MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL), check out Red Hat Software Collections, which is also newly available.
For those of you who are new to Red Hat Developer Toolset, take a look at Matt Newsome's blog, and see his slides here.
