  • Upgrading Wayland

    Posted on

    Hello,
The Wayland v1.15 is a bit old for Swaywm to work. I think I’ve read somewhere that in RHEL8.1 the Gnome version gets an update, is this true for Wayland too?

If no upgrades in the version is planned, anything I should carefully consider before I attempt to upgrade to 1.16 or 1.17? My understanding of Wayland is that’ it’s fully backwards compatible.

Anyone here upgraded or got Swaywm to work?

Edit: I compiled Wayland, compiled wlroots and sway. I’ll lab a bit more tomorrow and report back if someone is interested.
