SAMBA IPA Authentication

I am curious if it is possible to authenticate and access a SAMBA share from a Windows client (located on Active Directory domain) using separate IDM credentials? I believe there was some documentation on this, but the page is no longer accessible:

I found some information regarding how to do this or something similar via freeIPA, but I am not sure if those same instructions would apply to IDM.
